Could Food Intolerance be causing your symptoms?
If you’ve noticed a pattern of symptoms after you have eaten a particular food, chances are you have food intolerances.
Symptoms of food intolerance include
- Eczema
- Migraines / headaches
- Brain Fog
- ADHD
- IBS - bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, gut pain
- Fatigue
- Mood
- Heart palpitations
- Reflux
- Muscle aches & pains
- Sinus / Sneezing
- Dark circles under eyes
- and much more!
There are a range of different ways that foods can trigger symptoms including
Food Chemical Intolerance
The most common type of food intolerance I see in my clients is food chemical intolerance. Naturally occurring food chemicals such as Salicylates, Amines (including Histamine) and Glutamates can trigger a range of symptoms in some people. Some additives such Artificial Colours and preservatives (including MSG, Sulfites, Nitrates, Sorbates, Benzoates and Antioxidants) can also trigger symptoms.
Dairy / Gluten / Soy intolerance
For some people particular proteins in foods are influencing their symptoms. But if you are eating these foods everyday you may not even notice that they are contributing to your symptoms!
I help clients to reduce their symptoms by following an elimination diet followed by a food challenge protocol to understand what foods trigger your symptoms. The next step is to understand what underlying factors may be influencing your intolerances, and address these so you can broaden your diet once again
